Equipment Management for Public Works Managers

This one-day workshop focuses on methods for local agency personnel to realize the maximum benefit and efficiency from their equipment by relating tips, techniques, and strategies for formalizing the process of managing multiple pieces of equipment. The methods used to purchase equipment as well as alternatives to purchasing equipment are also covered. The workshop will discuss how to effectively maintain and replace equipment at the appropriate time.

Registration

Mail or fax your registration or register online no later than one week prior to the program. Preregistration allows us to contact you if the workshop must be postponed due to weather or other factors. A refund of the registration fee, minus a $30 cancellation fee, will be made if written cancellation is received at least five working days before the workshop. Disability accommodations will be provided upon request.

Who Should Attend

Those responsible for managing and maintaining vehicular equipment, including street and road superintendents, equipment managers, lead mechanics, public works superintendents, and policymakers.

Credit

  • 1.0 Roads Scholar Program elective credit
  • To the best of our knowledge, this course/activity meets the continuing education requirements for 6.0 PDHs as outlined in Minnesota Statute 326.107. More information concerning continuing education for professionals is online at www.aelslagid.state.mn.us.

Instructor(s)

Frank Peloubet has more than 20 years of experience in sanitary engineering and water-related areas. His background includes 10 years as a wastewater and storm water utility manger, plus experience with the North Dakota environmental regulatory agency. Peloubet has worked on municipal and county drainage projects with a local engineering consulting firm to design culvert installations, and has taught water- and transportation- related courses. He is a graduate of North Dakota State University.
