This workshop outlines an integrated approach to managing roadsides. The class looks at the needs of local communities and users; plant ecology and natural processes; design, construction, and maintenance considerations; monitoring and evaluation procedures; government statutes and regulations; and technology. The Best Practices Handbook for Roadside Vegetation Management is used as the course resource, with an emphasis on erosion control and development of an integrated roadside vegetation management plan. Effective mowing and pruning techniques will also be covered as well as the use of native grasses and biological weapons to combat noxious weeds.
Mail or fax your registration or register online no later than one week prior to the program. Preregistration allows us to contact you if the workshop must be postponed due to weather or other factors. A refund of the registration fee, minus a $30 cancellation fee, will be made if written cancellation is received at least five working days before the workshop. Disability accommodations will be provided upon request.
