Jim Grothaus joined Minnesota T2/LTAP in June. As technology transfer engineer, he will be responsible for designing and delivering technology transfer programs for Minnesota's transportation community, including activities of the Minnesota T2/LTAP Program.
Jim Grothaus
Grothaus formerly was a project engineer with Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. He has also held positions as engineering aide with the city of Stillwater and student worker with Mn/DOT. He received his civil engineering degree from the University of Minnesota.
As a U of M grad, the educational environment at CTS was very appealing. "Becoming the T2 engineer for a successful local and national program like LTAP/T2 will help me maintain the relationships with local and state agencies I started while I was a project engineer at SEH Inc. and continue to build new ones with additional agencies," Grothaus says.
He hopes to listen and react to the local and state transportation agencies and use this information, along with his previous knowledge, to respond to local and state transportation educational and information resource needs. "By doing this, I feel it can only further strengthen the LTAP/T2 Program and help it continue to deliver current, new, and high-quality educational and technical assistance resources," Grothaus adds.
"We are pleased to have Jim join the CTS/T2 staff and the network of transportation professionals who deliver the program. I can already say his personal, approachable style, together with his technical knowledge and desire to learn, will be an asset to our program," says Cheri Marti, T2/LTAP director.
