Maintenance Research Corner

The members of the Mn/DOT New Technology, Research, and Equipment Committee (NTREC), as well as staff of Mn/DOT’s Maintenance Operations Research (MOR), publish a monthly one-page bulletin of their latest news and findings. Below are highlights from recent bulletins. If you would like to be added to the bulletin mailing list, please e-mail Farideh Amiri of Mn/DOT Maintenance Research at Farideh.Amiri@dot.state.mn.us.

Jetter project

Highway drainage repair and cleaning require the use of a jet rodder to blast through debris to get the water flowing again. Production units are very expensive and found in limited numbers around the state. This D-6W project will construct a rodder utilizing the hydraulic power from their existing John Deere tractor. This will substantially reduce the cost of purchasing a production unit.

For more information, contact Ron Heim or Daryl Johnson, Mn/DOT Faribault Truck Station D-6W, 320-334-4495.
